Day 14: Six Ways To Beat Back A Bad Day (Without Chocolate)

Comfort booksjpg
Some days you can’t shake your black cloud, no matter how hard you try. Help is on the way. Here are six techniques to beat back a bad day. You won’t find chocolate on this list – it’s a given (as long as it's dark), along with a spoonful of Trader Joe’s cookie butter:

1. Holy basil calming tea

2. Did you know Yoga for a Bad Day was an actual thing? I’ve tried it and don’t know that it relieved my bad mood. But a little yoga never hurt anybody.

3. Pandora’s Anthem Lights station. You’re welcome.

4. Move over mac-and-cheese. Comfort books are far better and carb-free. A bad day can be made viable again with: Mr and Mrs Mike, Joy in the Morning, anything by Laura Ingalls Wilder, Anne of Green Gables, Christy

5. This soup and tortilla chips. Some times you just need to crunch the mad away.

6. A cozy blanket and any one of the following movies: Pride and Prejudice, Sleepless in Seattle, An Affair to Remember, You’ve Got Mail or Love Actually.

Where is the moment when we needed the most?
You kick up the leaves, and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue sky's faded to gray
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carrying on
Daniel Powter - Bad Day
